A first look at Purpose · A vision in development, brought to life with fictional examples

CARE, CHOICE & TRUST

The way we build it
matters as much
as the idea.

A foundation of choice, clear evidence and respect for people makes it possible to build something meaningful and lasting.

01

Choice, always.

Taking part is voluntary. Sharing a record is a separate choice. A reward should not obscure the commitment being made.

02

People, not scores.

No one has to prove their worth. A specific contribution record is not a character assessment or an employment ranking.

03

Community first.

Genuine needs, appropriate activities and accountable hosts. No substituting free labour for paid roles.

04

Honest evidence.

Clear confirmation standards, proportionate evidence and a way to question or correct a record. These must be established before launch.

A FEW IMPORTANT QUESTIONS

Clarity is part
of the care.

What does a parallel career in contribution mean?

A continuing path of voluntary contribution alongside the rest of your life. You can build practical experience, relationships and a record of increasing responsibility, including supported mentoring or leadership where appropriate. It is not a job, a guaranteed promotion ladder or a substitute for paid roles. People can contribute at different rhythms, and leadership requires a host-entrusted role and suitable preparation.

Is government involved?

The concept may be relevant to public goals such as inclusion, local participation and community capacity. No government partnership, endorsement, public funding or fiscal saving is claimed. Those possibilities would need evidence and appropriate agreements. The aim would be to complement essential public services, not replace their responsibilities.

Is Purpose a live service?

Not yet. This is a first website explaining the concept and demonstrating a possible experience. There are no live signups, accepting campaigns, real verification services or reward claims here.

Is the passport a score?

No. The concept is a record of specific contributions and the evidence behind them, not a rating of character, virtue or employability. More entries do not mean a person is worth more.

Who would confirm a contribution?

In the proposed model, an accountable activity host would review relevant evidence. A live service still needs detailed standards, host checks, dispute handling and correction processes. The demonstration simulates confirmation only.

Would contributions replace paid work?

They should not. Purpose is not intended to substitute unpaid participants for paid roles. A live campaign would need a clear, appropriate scope and review of the activity and working arrangements.

Does participation guarantee a reward?

No. Any campaign reward would depend on its published eligibility rules, availability and fulfilment arrangements. The football trip is a fictional example, not a real offer or an affiliation with a club.

Would employers see my whole passport?

That is not the intended model. Sharing should be optional and selective, with a clear recipient and purpose. The demonstration only creates an on-screen preview and sends nothing.

Could it lead to a job?

It could provide context for a conversation, and an interview is one possible later outcome. Neither an interview nor employment is guaranteed, and a contribution record must not replace a fair hiring process.

What personal data does this demonstration collect?

The demonstration does not ask for names, contact details, files or real contribution evidence. Its choices remain in the current browser page and reset when it is refreshed. No analytics or third-party tracking code has been added to the site. The hosting service may process ordinary access information under its own policies.

What needs to happen before a live pilot?

The first audience, launch location and partner roles need to be agreed. Host verification, safeguarding, evidence standards, privacy and retention, reward terms, complaints and operational support must be designed and tested. This preview is not a substitute for those decisions.
