A first look at Purpose · A vision in development, brought to life with fictional examples

FOR BRANDS, HOSTS & EMPLOYERS

Different roles.
A shared purpose.

Purpose aims to connect people who want to contribute with organisations that can help make that contribution matter.

01

FOR BRANDS

Invite your audience
into something meaningful.

Build depth, continuity and affinity through something your audience values.

In the proposed model, brands invite their audiences into useful community activity and fund campaign rewards and the Purpose platform. A continuing programme creates more moments of meaningful connection: first participation, a return visit, a new responsibility and a shared experience.

  • Depth of engagement. Give people a role in a shared experience, with reasons to return beyond a single impression or promotion.
  • Credible association. Connect the brand with tangible, host-confirmed activity and communicate the contribution accurately.
  • A relationship that develops. Support people as participants, repeat contributors and, where appropriate, mentors or team leaders.
  • Brand affinity with a human basis. Create opportunities for trust, preference and voluntary advocacy through experiences people value.
  • Stories shared by choice. Use participant stories or personal information only with permission; passports are not an audience-data entitlement.

These are proposed marketing benefits to test in a pilot, not proven engagement, sales or return-on-investment results. No brand partnerships are claimed in this preview.

02

FOR COMMUNITY HOSTS

Start with the need.
Protect the purpose.

You know your community. The campaign should respect that.

Make the way in easier, without asking contributors to organise it all themselves. In the proposed model, Purpose, opportunity providers and hosts would shape genuine needs into prepared, bite-sized sessions, with clear roles, manageable commitments and a simple joining process.

Hosts define useful activities, explain what participation involves and review evidence of the contribution. Returning contributors can build local knowledge, help newer people settle in and take on appropriately supported responsibilities. That continuity can strengthen the host’s capacity while keeping community priorities at the centre.

  • Set suitable tasks, time commitments, accessibility information and participation requirements before sign-up.
  • Prepare materials, briefings and appropriate supervision, with clear ways to ask questions or raise concerns.
  • Agree activity-specific health and safety, safeguarding and insurance arrangements, with responsibilities, relevant cover and limits made clear.
  • Confirm what happened, with a route to query or correct it.

A live pilot would need host checks, safeguarding arrangements and clear responsibilities before participation begins.

03

FOR EMPLOYERS

See an experience.
Start a conversation.

Understand how someone has learned, contributed and taken responsibility over time.

With the contributor’s choice to share, a Purpose record can illustrate a developing contribution career: repeated participation, practical experience, mentoring and host-entrusted leadership. Employers can discuss those concrete examples alongside the person’s wider experience and qualifications.

  • Receive only the evidence the person chooses to share.
  • Use it as context, not a character or employability score.
  • Respect people who cannot or choose not to participate.

No employer access, recruitment partnership, interview or job is offered through this demonstration.

THE PURPOSE FLYWHEEL

When people move forward,
the benefits can multiply.

Each part gives the next a reason to grow. A model for shared value, built around useful contribution.

  1. 01 / BRANDS ENABLE

    Open an invitation.

Brands support meaningful campaigns, experiences and the platform, inviting their audiences to take part.

  2. 02 / PEOPLE DEVELOP

    Build a future.

Contributors build confidence, connections and practical experience, with a record of growing responsibility.

  3. 03 / COMMUNITIES BENEFIT

    Grow local capacity.

Useful activity meets genuine needs. Returning contributors and supported leaders can help a community do more.

  4. 04 / EMPLOYERS CONNECT

    See fuller stories.

Contributor-selected evidence gives employers more context for conversations and can reveal experience beyond a CV.

  5. 05 / BRANDS DEEPEN CONNECTION

    Make the association meaningful.

Repeated, voluntary participation can build affinity with a brand supporting activity people value.

  6. 06 / SOCIETY SHARES THE VALUE

    Strengthen participation.

More connected communities and broader access to experience could support inclusion and local participation goals relevant to government and public services.

Shared value can encourage renewed support, creating more opportunities to contribute, develop and begin the cycle again.

This is the intended model, not measured impact or a claim of government endorsement, public funding or fiscal savings. Public value and commercial benefits would need to be demonstrated in practice.

SMALL BEGINNINGS. SHARED POSSIBILITIES.

is the contribution.
